[Selling Printing] out of town company wanting t-shirts - should I require a deposit?

Default [Selling Printing] out of town company wanting t-shirts - should I require a deposit?

if i have a company that is out of town and they want to place an order, how does it work? do they pay us in full and then we mail the product?

we have not met them and they dont know us so who gives in?

Have them pay in full, in advance, no exceptions. If they want to send a check, wait until it clears to start the job. That's how we handle out of town jobs. If it's an exceptionally large dollar amount, get the card number, and call the credit card company to verify the card.

After their second or third order, you can then discuss NET30 or Half-payment-up-Front options.

How do they put it?... "In God we trust, all others pay cash."

Most of our orders are out of state. We take a 50% deposit before anything is ordered or art is started. After the job is complete we take the balance before shipping the product. Many times the customer chooses to just pay 100% up front.

We do the same. And is by far the best way to do this. IMO
