Give me your honest opinion on this please. I purchased a foil designed shirt a while back and it wears/washes well. I personally LOVE it! However, is foil still popular in the industry? I haven't seen anybody wearing it in my neck of the woods. So, is it still a good product in terms of marketing? If so, what age group?
Update me on this when you can please. Thanking you in advance for your help w/this.
I'd say it's still popular, but under-used. Market the hell out of it for a few months and see what happens! Maybe you'll start a trend.

Thanks guys. Do you think it's popular w/the males? I'm going to have a few made up and see what happens. I've got some fresh ideas in my head. I only wish I was making them myself.
Where are you located? Send some photos of your work. I might have to enlist your services for these. Do you do contract work? If so, send me some pricing, etc. I can supply my own shirts or vice-versa. Also, my design ideas are real simple.
I would have to say that foil is highly popular for the males, whereas glitter and rhinestones are popular for the females. I personally love the way all three look, and have yet to understand why so few people actually use it.
We've done foil work in the past, it's a really cool way to add some "pizazz" to a design. It can even be layered with a multi-colored screen print.

Thanks again!
sorry dude,, but i must desagre with most of the posts here, i worked several years for a main retailer and as a manager i saw the the whole boom of foil fashion go up 5 year ago until the last few months things are going back to basic, people don't care that much for vinyl , flock... glitter still in but not sure for how long ...
there are brands that use these techniques all the time , but they sell because of the brand and customer loyalty they have not because the foil flock techniques (don't get me wrong that made them famous a few years back, but i don't think i would be good to follow this late on the game).
here are some brand examples judge yourself .
affliction, aqua VI, ed hardy (this one is a joke now), remetee (this one uses rhinestones still,, it will die).
google them ..
ps ,, if you are making them for events not for fashion , it is a whole different deal ,, there will be always someone who will ask for rhinestones foils , and the most shiny things you can attach to a shirt.
Foil will likely be a $1-3 upcharge from a standard screen print dependent on where you go and what kind of volume you're printing per design.
As far as the market is concerned, I see it all over the market, everywhere... For men, not so much. It's rare we print mens shirts with foil on them. Women and juniors though, yes, and lots of it. I don't spend too much time in the womens section at clothing stores, well, just because it may be a little weird, but we are printing significantly more womens and juniors shirts with foil though than we are mens.
When I say juniors, I mean like the tween and teen market (9 years up to 19 years, and even into the early 20's). I have a 10 year old daughter, so therefore it's not so weird for me to peruse this section out at stores, we were actually at a mall this weekend. The young female market seems like it is all foil, glitter and rhinestones right now. Seriously, everywhere I looked, and I have to say 65% of the tees in my daughters drawer have some sort of foil, rhinestone, glitter, or a combination of these things, and she is loving it, and it is what all her friends are wearing... Justice, Gap, Target, if you look at the racks at those stores, it's all about the bling...
We went years without doing a foil job, but this year we got hammered with requests. We had to re-learn how to do it. No we run 1 to 2 jobs per week. Most of the jobs are on ladies junior tees, but we do some jobs on unisex in mens sizes.
