Black would be my first guess, although blue is by far and away the biggest selling clothing colour on eBay, by a long shot, and has been since the start.

Part of the popularity also deals with your location. For example, I'm in SW Florida - black is definitely NOT the most popular here because of the intense sun. About the only time to wear black here is either on the Harley or during the winter months when it only gets to about 75 degrees or at night after the sun sets.
Someone mentioned that brown is good for the ladies. From our experience, women don't wear brown. And larger women don't wear light colors. Black makes big people look a little less big and big people know it.
We stock a lot of cap sleeve women's shirts. We sell the white shirts with different color sleeves that 20-something's seem to like. Same with ringers.

I would say about 50% of my shirts are black or navy and a small smattering of heather's and the rest a standard white t-shirt. I print the color the customer wants.
popularity of colour changes from season to season (correct me if im wrong).i know with the younger crowd it does and also the cooler designer fashion labels. Black will always be "in" and im sure the saying "the new black" came from the fashion industry.
I would have to agree, black is the most popular color, although right now red has been red hot for us. it changes too, last yr. it was white, depends on the election also. i personally like athletic gray.
My partner and I were having this very conversation the other day, and wondering, to some extent, why we even bother to carry anything but black shirts. We came to the conclusion that not only were they probably the best selling color, but they were our favorite color in t-shirts as well.
The most popular color is the one I have in stock in the customers hands making the sale. We do white and black and something special if they want to order it.
