Default NYC Garment District - tiny boutique wholesalers tees and tanks

I am a dancewear retailer whose primary market is tween/junior young women.

My normal line is regular dancewear, but I also like to carry a few trendy tees and tanks with cool graphics. Usually I travel to the LA Fashion District twice a year and pick up a handful of styles (and then re-order from the ones I have established relationships with).

This weekend I am flying to NYC and plan on visiting the Garment District next Monday and Tuesday. I'm really excited, and am hoping to find unique, cool stuff.

I am looking for edgy styles (similar to Affliction), and asian/cute styles (similar to Kidrobot). Do you know of any tiny boutique wholesalers with original designs that I might visit?

They don't have to have a website or an online presence, and in this case a name and street address is appreciated.

Thank you! Mark.

Thanks, Kriscad. I anticipate attending these shows the end of August.

However I am still looking for suggestions of cool, hip, tiny boutiques worth visiting in the NYC garment district. I'm flying out tomorrow, so I suppose this thread is a little late, but if anyone has suggestions that'd be great.

Thanks.

I would check out t-shirts lines online and see where they are located. There are many people that make hip t-shirts in the Village/Brooklyn area - can't remember any specific names right now, but do a search online and then check out thier addess and phone number.

Great source is House of Lux on Orchid Street. This is where all the new designers are showing.

Thank you for all of your replies.

I googled around and came across "The Young Designers Market," on Mulberry, and also a second market on Hudson, and so we'll check that out.

Also came across "The Dressing Room" which is a boutique with a coctail bar in it (what a great idea!).

Regards.

We sell a number of designers in the Young Designers Market. A great way to see whats up and coming.

I'm back from NYC.

Hi Sid. I visited the Young Designers Market on Sunday! I believe I remember stopping at your booth briefly, to look at tees with photographs reproduced on them. It is not something I am quite looking for, but they are very cool.

I was surprised and delighted to see Cassie from New York Couture at the Young Designers Market. I admired her styles, especially her vintage tee conversions and boy briefs converted into little skirts. She's pretty creative. Cute stuff.

Regards, Mark.
