What do you think they would sell like? I've got a supplier that does all sorts of official tees and hoodies for bands ranging from Iron Maiden to Cradle of Filth. Profit would be lower compared to doing my own designs but there's tons of designs/bands, even a few Maiden allover prints.
most of the time Artist Management and record labels issue licenses to merchandizing companies that sell the shirts at the tour concerts. In some cases these licenses will include re-selling the shirts to retailers via sales agents/reps etc. it usually ends there.
Sorry, should've been a bit clearer. These are preprinted shirts, not ones I'll be printing. I just don't know much about the genre, how it sells, that sort of thing. Yeah, I like Iron Maiden but a lot of the bands are ones I've never heard of, or have only heard the name (like Cradle of Filth, very popular in my local pagan group - never heard em )
It's a large merchandising company that does posters, badges, that sort ofthing. T-shirts and apparel are a new line for them and they are all band related, which got me interested
If you can sell them why not. Pushing band merch is tough as they are specific to certian people. If ther is no limit as to what you sell, try some as samples to see how they do before getting into this full speed.

True, but it's cool if you can do larger festivals with bigger bands as a small independent merchandiser. This kinda merchandise requires you to go to the customer (concert, festival) instead of waiting for someone to show up at your webshop (unless you carry over 100 designs). Less tough that way... and more fun
I was thinking of selling band merchandise myself for some bands if possible but haven't digged to deep into it yet (contracts, fees, licencies, legal stuff). Does anyone here sell's band shirts? If so, Can you tell a bit more about how you got into it?
Heathen, does that company has a website, maybe you could share the URL?

You can get officially licensed band t-shirts wholesale from newworldsales.com. They have the licenses and the shirts are already printed.

no offense or anything, but why would you want to venture into a business you're not entirely familiar with?
don't people usually start business out of their trades, hobbies or knowledge and experience of a certain market?

Not always When I started selling t-shirts I had no experience in it whatsoever. I didn't let my lack of knowledge then determine what my future business opportunities could be.
People learn about new business areas, research and move forward all the time.
One of the main reasons I was thinking of adding these is simple - it brings in an area of my target audience and requires no outlay as they are dropshipped. The profit is lower but the workload is nearly nowt - just take the order and pass it on to my supplier
