Discuss the wholesale blanks industry: Factory direct, custom labels. You can also use this forum to locate a wide variety of wholesale products including t-shirts, hoodies, mousepads, coffee mugs and other imprintable products.
Just went there to check them out, and they have a picture with the boobs exposed.
You know there is a limit to everything, if they are going to show that, at least have the ARE YOU 18 question prior to enter.
Thats kinda tasteless. Fine show boobs, but be careful, there are minors around!!!
Morons!
It's the internet. You're gonna see breasts no matter what.
And it's not tasteless.
I wouldn't call 'em morons. They are making bank. They know exactly what they are doing.
Putting one of those useless "Are you over 18" forms is about as useful at detracting minors as a Surgeon General warning on cigarettes are at getting smokers to quit.
Well American Apparel are for the 18-26 age range so their advertising methods certainly make sense.
They aren't advertising to kids.
And I'll always be a firm believer that you shouldn't blame a website for the content your kids are viewing. The internet is full of sex and violence. There's nothing that can be done about that except on the parents end of things. Monitor what your kids are browsing/watching/playing.

That's funny..... there's a link highlighted above the half naked women, under "online store" that says "EXPANDED KIDS LINE". Why expand the kids line if they are strictly for 18-26 year olds?
And while kids might not be shopping directly perhaps parents are shopping for kids clothing, and don't expect nudity.

I agree, but there are exceptions. I don't stand over my kids shoulder when he's on disney.com because I know it's safe. I don't send my kid out of the room when I'm looking at this site, ryonet, atlas, jiffyshirts, etc, because they aren't F'n porn sites.
I didn't send him out of the room the other day when I clicked on the American Apparel site because the thought hadn't crossed my mind that they were going to have a girl in assless pantyhose completely topless on the frontpage. I can only imagine what my wifes gonna say when he tells her "daddy was looking at a site with naked girls".
I am by no means squeemish, and not offended by nudity in any way, BUT when I'm looking business supplies I don't need to see it.
T-shirt printing is not my 9-5 job. I do have a day job in health care industry. One reason I was shocked was because, during lunch time, I checked AA's website using my computer here at work.. Not expecting to see any nipples, I let my co-workers see what I was searching.. It wasnt very pleasant when they saw a website with a topless woman, not to mention it was a company computer.
No, not anymore. I just visited the site, and unless I missed something prior, it is much more "americanapparel" then it used to be. Literally, topless girls, completely see thru clothing, beyond provocative poses.
And for those thinking it's for 18-26... there are pictures of little tiny children, like 5 years old, strewn without. Also disturbing, if you think about it.
Well, my opinion is, clothes are clothes, and the clothes seem well liked, but they are definitely bringing alot of element of porn to their marketing, more so than I've seen before, because they have actual porn on their site.
I saw one of the bare cheek outfits, no top on the girl, everything viewable. That's getting traffic to the site.
Victoria's Secret... who actually sell this stuff as their main gig, their site is nothing like this. Very weird. But not really.
The site/adverts are getting so polarizing, I think shopping decisions will start to be made based on whether you approve of what they stand for, like their site, more so than the product itself.... and that .... I think, is where a company starts to lose focus of reaching the broadest customer base possible.
But that is a company's choice to make, and their right to make that choice, no doubt.
Life is full of choices. I'm free to shop their site, not go to their site directly and shop other sites that sell AA without all of the images, or not shop AA at all.
