That's where I go to get 2x and up plain tall tees. I've heard they are 24 dollars a dozen now. They used to go for 22/doz a few years ago.

I know the area very well, and I never knew that around that area sold wholesale T shirts. Do you have the name of the company or store? I wouldn't mind checking them out in the near future, also do you have pricing? any idea on the shirt weight in grams or oz ?

Hey out da box the 2XL white tees are 18 to $20 a dozen now.
Hello Zabulun, the quality of the shirts are ok, and the names vary. I advise one to get a real look and feel. I would say they weight 6-7oz. One brand I like is Cotton Heritiage.

One of the guys even have a website now www.knight-tshirt.com where they're selling white tees S,M,L,XL at $16dz. They're located at 1205 B'way.

I just called this company that you referred Northeast Traders/ Knight Tees - Home

and I asked them about the cotton weight of the shirts, the guy over the phone said 180 gms, so In ounces its a little over 6 oz.

My question to you is, are the shirts that heavy? If yes, their much heavier than the type of shirt that I use which is 4.5-4.7 oz, however $1.50 for colored T's is not bad considering it's from a local vendor.

The T shirts that I buy are from California at $2.70 priced under a dozen.

In regards to the other T shirt vendors in NYC, do I have to walk around 28th / Broadway... (which I don't mind) If I go down there, how can I find the other T shirt vendors

By the way, here's a online metric conversion that you might like, it really comes in handy.

No, 180gsm is 5.30oz

Only if you use it right. You just converted it across as if it was linear weight, which it isn't. It's a measure of weight per area.

It's not really a significant price difference.

Let's take Bodek and Rhodes; Gildan 2000.

Case pricing white t's- $18.36/dozen

Case pricing color t's- $28.32/dozen

And orders over $150 FREE freight.

Now if you are ordering in dozens and not over $150 in freight then that is a different story possibly.

Most of my orders are $150 for blank goods so I'm eligible for free freight.

Yes, the shirts are pretty heavy, but I don't know if I would offer these shirts to my customers, most of these are the general urban tees such as Talha, Gazy, United USA to name a few, but as stated earlier out of those tees the one I like best is Cotton Heritage(but after washing these tee the first time they seem to shrink to much (not good).

I like Guildan and they seem to be a industry standard. Right now The shirt I currently wear and sell to my urban customers is a brand called IBS (International basic source).

Its funny beacause they dont even have a website? but you can call (201) 807-0200 and ask for James, by the way these urban style shirts are 2.75 per dozen. A store in my area sell them for 5 to $6 over 2xl, this is the only shirts that I will sell to my market RIGHT NOW.

As for industry standard shirts I'm starting to feel the AAA shirts, they seem to be of high quality. Mpossoff is right in saying that if you buy in dozens it equates to same.

To Zabulun thanks for offering the World Wide Metric tool.

for 2x and up tees, you cannot buy them cheaper than nyc street wholesale prices. 20/doz for white and 20 or 24 for black or colors. I know Gildan 2x white is 2.25 and black 2x is almost 3.00 and that's case pricing.

Yeah that may be true but, Gildans are better shirts (in my opinion) because it can stand up to muitiple washings which is important to a lot of people especially when have screenprinting and custom/stock transfers on them.

As stated in the last post the only shirt of this kind I would use is IBS.

However, these "B'way" shirts are ok for blanks and to wear once or twice. (only washing once)

This is true. They do not wash well, but a lot of people prefer the longer cut and heavier neckline and heavier feel. Some actually think of the top tees or talha brands as higher quality than gildans or fruit.

Just to be clear, there's nothing at that link that can be used to convert fabric weight from metric to imperial. If you use that site, your results will be wrong.

That site converts linear measurements, like grams to ounces. Fabric is measured in weight per area, what you need to convert is grams per square meter to ounces per square yard.

Google can do this quite easily (it's built right into the Google search query itself). The site linked to above does not.

Hi,

Anyone know if any of the wholesalers along Broadway (or anywhere else in the city) sells high quality t shirts with seamless necks? I've been to a few stores but all the ones I've been to have double stitch necks.

Thanks
