Hey guys, well I have a problem, I have found the material and blank that I would like to use for my shirts, the only problem is, i cant tell what kind of blank this shirt is! The shirt is very heavy, its thick, but at the same time the material is incredibly soft. The shirt if from Japan but original label has been ripped off and only the caretag remains, i dont know if the caretag is custom or the actual caretag of the blank. It is thicker than the 6.1 heavyweights, im pretty sure its 6.8 - 7.1 but its incredibly soft, most likely ringspun. The cut is not the urban hiphop tall style. its a regular fit t-shirt, something like a hanes but maybe a tiny tiny bit slimmer.
I dont know what to do, i went to a bunch of manufacturers today and they all said they have no idea where to find something like what I showed them. Does anyone know where i would be able to get a super heavy super soft regular cut t? 7.1 ringspun combed cotton but not a tall t? Or if anyone recognizes the caretag... If no one knows can someone direct me to how to get something like this made overseas? If anyone has any connections I would be very interested in placing a 1000 piece order if the price/ shirt isnt rediculous.
Thanks,
Chris

is there an RN # on the care label. Many companies leave their RN# on that part so if anyone relabels their products but leaves the care label it will remain visible.
Also what does the actual country of origin say on the care label.
It does not have an RN. I looked on the flap of what remained of the original label and realized that it was japanese so maybe it actually originated from japan... is there anything that is comparable to what i described? ive only heard about luxe-ts but i have not seen them in person, how is their sizing? are they super tall even for s-l sizes? or are they regular?
sorry cannot help you beyind that. Anvil used to have a 7oz T as did Gildan and Fruit of the Loom. I believe all are not dead as garments have moved to a lighter fabric in recent years.
If I am not mistaken Sam's Club Stores actually have a private label prgams that is 7oz and ring spun. I am not 100% sure though.
It's hard to tell from the tag, and without an RN number, it would be almost impossible to guess what it is.
If you need a lot of them, you could send the blank to a manufacturer and have them reproduce the blank based on the specs of the exact t-shirt.
There are a lot of soft, heavyweight t-shirts out there. Luxe-T makes one, CityLab makes one, Jerzees 18z is a nice one. The bamboo/organic cotton blanks from bambooclothes.com is very nice. I think RoyalApparel also makes one.
I don't know you or where you are in regards to your business plan, but in general, I would also caution against getting hung up on a specific blank or detail in the overall process. Again, speaking only generally, I've noticed that some smaller details can really block people from moving forward on an otherwise good t-shirt business plan.
I am thinking I might want to use luxe-t's however, does anyone know the fitment of them? im really do not want a tall t. something in the range of a alstyle standard would be okay, I am not able to find a medium luxe-t online, anyone with a luxe can you describe the size fitment? is it baggy? tall? in comparison with something generic like a hanes, how do the dimensions compare?
