Question Comparsion of commonly used Blanks

I am trying to wrap my head around when a particular blank should be used. I have been reading a lot of the forums and have deduced that Gildan is a "workhorse", commonly used due to price and available colors, but not the softest tee. However all the other ones are it seems is personal preference. I went to five or more t-shirts sites and compiled a list of commonly used tees. I am hoping that someone will be able to assist me in ranking these tees. I am trying to do some ground-work before starting a company.

2000 Gildan Ultra Cotton Tee (6.1oz)
5108 Hanes Beefy T (6.1oz)
5250 Hanes Authentic Tagless Tee
American Apparel Fine Jersey T (4.3oz)
Hanes Heavy (5170)
Gildan Ultra 8000
PC61 Port & Company
350 Augusta Sleeve Stripe
923 Anvil Ringer Tee
OR40 Anvil Organic
aa6005 Alternative Apparel

Right now I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all the choices of blanks.

Also, if anyone has any information on how to obtain samples from companies that would be helpful. How many do you order? What variety of colors and sizes do order? How do you determine their quality i.e. wash them 10 times etc.

Thank you for your time!!

Default Re: Comparsion of commonly used Blanks

I would stick to Gildan or Hanes since the availabilities of colors and consistency is top notch.

Gildan:
The G2000, G5000 & G8000 are our top choices. We also like the Hanes 5250 and the 5280. Anvil 976 also has some good color choices. If people are looking for a step up, you can put them into the Hanes Beefy T or the Anvil Organics.

For softness, the Anvil 980 has been VERY popular here the past few months along with the G6400L. Both are lightweight and somewhat fitted.
