Default Buy from Walmart/Target or Wholesaler?

I'm perparing to lauch my site really soon....already have a couple of projects lined up. Do you think its more rationale to buy shirts from Walmart/Target or from Wholesaler when you're first starting out? Will probably use Hanes/or the dreaded FOL brand.

As long as you have a retail sales license (which is easy to get and if charged for, usually no more than $25 & it may be required by law!)

You should have no problem ordering even 1 piece from most of the wholesalers. This will usually give you better prices and a better selection than what WalMart can offer. I would definitely try to find a few wholesalers who have warehouses near you. I happily use & frequently refer either www.alphashirt.com or One Stop - America's Best Supplier

Aloha TDP... I think there are a lot of factors involved here. First off, what's your budget of starting off? Secondly, what kind of expansion are you aiming for? Thirdly, always consider shipping costs if any. I think wholesale wise(in bulk) you can get a pretty good bargain, reliable stock of tees and more choices as well. If you want your business to be consistent with returning clients, stick with same brand unless otherwise noted.

Blankshirts.com is the place to go. No minimums, one price shipping and all the selections you need. Much better than paying the price and Walmart and Target and having to buy what they have in stock. My opinion anyways. Check them out.

Are you going to be doing your own printing, or outsourcing your printing?

If you are outsourcing your printing, then I would suggest not worrying about buying blank t-shirts, especially if you plan on buying them from walmart/target.

Just let your screen printer or whoever is going to print your t-shirts source the t-shirts from their existing wholesale suppliers.
