What is "cheap" to you?

Most slim fitting tees are more fashion oriented, which means they will cost more than a gildan/jerzees type tee.

Cheap being 5 or 6 bucks each.
they dont have to be soft and lightweight.
100% cotton is ok.
just needs to be a slimmer waist and sleeves

American Apparel fits that category. You just have to buy wholesale by setting up an account with them directly or one of their distributors like TSCApparel.

In fact, almost all the slim fitting t-shirts I know of fit that category when you buy wholesale. You just have to contact the companies to setup wholesale accounts.

Alstyle has a slim fitting t-shirt that would work as well. Along with Continental Clothing, Article1, epacificsports, Kavio, etc

If you're making t-shirts for bands, you'll probably want to setup a business and do it all correctly. That may include getting a business license and resell permit depending on your location.

I don't know what you mean by "legality" issues.

If you aren't making the t-shirts yourself, then have the screen printer you hire get the t-shirts for you.

Crazy like what exactly?

It's not illegal to buy American Apparel t-shirts and print on them if that's what you're asking. That's what the shirts are made for.
