Hey Fellow Forum Members - does anyone have a source for more substantial, impressive wooden bookend than the usual we see from all suppliers, that would accomodate a ceramic tile - either 4.25" or 6" tile (I know one is a 6x8 per photo, but the client is talking square tiles)?? I have been asked for a quote on 150 pairs, dark finish, similar to the ones in the attached photos. Can't find anything even remotely similar - have been told it will probably be a custom item. Any and all help will be much appreciated - we are located in Houston, TX. THX bookend tile.jpgBookends.jpg
They probably are a custom item.
You might contact Woodcraft Store Locator - Woodcraft.com and ask them to refer you to their customers who make this type of item. The store is at I45 & 1960.
Or, contact Hardwood, Lumber, Plywood & Moulding by Houston Hardwoods! and ask them for a referral to one of their customers. This store is on 34th just off 290.
If you only needed one set I would send you to my father-in-law but at almost 87 years old he doesn't do anything quickly so it would take him a couple of years to do 150 pairs.
Thanks, Lizzie, I'll check out the suggestions you sent! - as for your father-in-law, I'll bet he'd have the best quality work, though!!
My father-in-law is very good still. It just takes him a little long than it used to. He made me this incredible storage unit for all my embroidery backings. All I did was tell him what I wanted, he did some measurements and made it. I am very lucky to have him in my life.
