Hello all...Im a starting a t-shirt line and reaching out for your for assistance. Im shopping around for and blanks, and quality wise i like american apparel shirts best so far, but may not be able to afford their prices with my start up budget, so i was wondering what other brand if any may be similar to AA in quality but is cheaper priced, or if any wholesellers sell AA at a better price than ordering direct from them. We have a wholesale t-shirt section of the forum here: Wholesale T-Shirts and Other Imprintable Products - T-Shirt Forums

If you search for American Apparel, you'll find alternatives and vendors where you can buy in smaller minimums than when you buy direct from AA. TSCApparel.com is one such vendor.

You will have to pay if you want quality though. There may be a few alternatives that a competitively priced, but most are in the same general range. One is epacificsports.com

Anvil makes a nice "AA killer" 4.5 oz ringspun with side seams. Extremely soft and upscale. You should be able to get those [for less than AA] I am not sure how much AA's are but www.alphashirt.com is one of several who wholesales them.

A few established brands have released shirts to try and compete with aa; Gildan has one out as well. Haven't tried them, so I don't know if they're actually comparable, but that would be another one to try.

I've tried AA and their prices are great wholesale compared to in store (retail). The quality is great too, my customers always comment on how soft and fitted the shirts at AA are. Compare 3-5 dollars wholesale to 15 retail????????

Gildan 50/50 are pretty good.

I just ordered some blanks from Alstyle and spoke to a wonderful rep named Bonnie. I received 3 blanks but the one I feel most compares to American Apparel is the 5301N. This is a great shirt to wear in the summer and it breathes really well.

Alstyle Apparel - one of the largest manufacturers of blank t-shirts
