Default Gildan t-shirts, are they good quality???

I'm been comparing Gildan to other brands I'm interested in(Saad, proclub), is it a good quality shirt. I've been looking at the 6.1 oz shirts, does anyone know if they are thick?
How are their collars, are they nice and tight through all sizes?, and are they durable? Is the length simliar to Saad and Proclub? I don't want shirts with dead collars after a few wears......

Any help appreicated...
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're cut like a "regular" shirt, rather than with extra length, etc. so they may or may not be suitable for your purposes. You can compare a size chart to see if they have the length you require.

As for the quality... some people regard them as a "cheap" brand. They are often criticised for having oversized arms. That said... the quality is good if you're talking things like colourfastness, stitching, etc. They're not a thin, crappy shirt that will disintegrate after a few washes. I wouldn't say their durability is better or worse than any other similar major brand (i.e. Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, etc.).

Really the best thing to do is buy a sample or ten and try them for yourself. They're not expensive, and they are reasonable - so if you're interested you might as well check them to see if they meet your needs or not. If you're in the hip-hop market though (which it sounds like you are), I haven't really heard of them being used to get that oversized effect.

I like them. I found the 6.1 oz to be somewhat hot to wear (Southern Californai) but otherwise they are a good shirt.

Basically all I use is Gildan 6.1. One thing is the give you material. Put it alongside most tees same size and it is larger. I wear an 2x in Jerzees and an xl in Gildan.

They are a quality shirt at the cheaper end of the market. I like the body cut a lot....the flared arms are pretty stupid, though.

They hold up good. I skateboard and i havent ripped one yet. The necks def keep their shape. Overall good deal for the price. And yes, the flared arms are pretty rediculous.

Jerzees run small as Lou said so an xl Gilden is fairly large. Like Solmu said, it isnt an urban cut or fashion cut with extra length or fitted sleeves. I personally dont care if the sleeves flair here in Texas...its friggin hot!!!!

I would use gildan, but the ones Alpha always sends me are made in Honduras. I need nafta baby.
Not sure about Honduras' Child labour laws either.
Try to keep it ethical as much as I can.

I agree with the others on the quality being good. We have yet to have any problems with Gildan T's. I personally like they way the fit compared to all the others.

Gildan for me too, 6.1 oz, ultra cotton, like most people said, they tend to run a little big because they do not shrink much at all, they are pre-shrunk.

Wow, the Jerzees run small!?? I have some Jerzees here and the first thing I thought is WOW they are really big. I'm used to either wearing a medium - large but the Jerzees medium look like Large or xl to me.

Probably because they aren't washed yet and also I'm a smaller guy - 5'6" 130lbs.

yeah, shrinkage can be a problem with some brands. Do a wash test.

50/50 has less shrinkage then 100% Cotton too.

I tried SAAD and washed them once and they shrank 5 inches. I put them in a hot dryer on purpose. they need to pass that test. I then tried City Lab. washed them and they shrunk 1/2 inch. Far superior in every way. Quality is 2 times that of SAAD.
