Default cardboard door hangers and coasters

I was wondering if you could heat press on cardboard coasters (like the ones you find in restaurants and bars) and door hangers too. The ones they make for sublimation are pretty expensive compared to the cardboard ones. Has anyone here done this?
Thanks for your help
Leslie

I've never done it but if I thought I wanted to I would get a piece of cardboard and try pressing a transfer on it. You would find out right away if it works or not. I really don't know why it wouldn't work. You would also know the answer before you plunked down your hard earned money on stock you couldn't use.--Pat

Hi Leslie. I was just wondering if heat pressing onto the cardboard coasters (or cardboard in general) worked out for you or not. I see that this thread is a few months old but I am looking into doing similar heat transfers.

Thanks

I tried heat pressing on the back of some cardboard coasters- that I got from a restaurant (blank side) but they didn't turn out very well- I was disappointed. I guess they need to be stamped. Hope this helps you.

That's too bad. What about them disappointed you? Did the transfer not take to the cardboard or was it a faded? Also, I wonder if pigment vs. dye inks would make a difference.

Well, good luck and thank you for responding!
