I'm new to this website. I currently order my shirts from a company called Virginia T's, which has been very good, but I have not ordered from anywhere else. I see a lot of people talking about American Apparel, but when I went to their website their prices seemed kind of high. I order the Bella shirts from Virginia T's and I think the quality is good. I was just wondering peoples thoughts on the best quality of shirts to put crystal transfers on with the most competative prices. Thanks for your input.

Try sanmar or Bodek and Rhodes. There are a ton of companies out there. I limit myself to the two above.

We mainly use Bella but use American Apparel from time to time. While the crystals work with both brands, our customers seem to prefer Bella over American Apparel. Another option, if you want to offer tees that are misses sizes instead of just junior sized tees, is the Hanes Classic Fit. The cut is still fashion fit but the sizing runs a little larger- the fabric is great for crystals and the price is nice.
The best place really depends on what you're looking for and where you're located. We use SanMar for most of our garments, but 80% of what we do is corporate apparel. They're 1 day away shipping wise, have a great website that we can integrate into ours, the pricing is fair, and they carry good quality basic garments. That might be great, but if they don't carry the styles you're looking for, they won't be the best for you.
If you're looking for something comparable to Bella that might be more competitive, check out SanMar's District Threads line. They created it because they didn't want to adhere to Bella's stocking guidelines if I remember correctly. The line is basically a Bella knockoff. You can check out their catalog here at www.companycasuals.com. It's geared towards the younger crowd.

American Apparel doesn't have wholesale pricing listed on their website. You might have went to their retail site, and the pricing there would be quite high.
You can check with a few distributors for wholesale pricing on American Apparel, or get a wholesale account directly with AA.

You probably saw the retail prices, not the wholesale prices. Most wholesalers won't show their pricing on their public website. You'll need to get an account and login to see the prices.
American Apparel is just one "brand" of t-shirt, they don't wholesale other brands like Virginia Ts.
You can get American Apparel (and many other brands) from one of their distributors like TSCApparel.com or AlphaShirt.com

It depends on what your target market is. You may want to try buying samples of a few different brands to see which one you like the best. Hanes Silver has some nice t-shirts, Bella, Continental Clothing and a few others out there.
Re: best companies to purchase t-shirts wholesale?
I have some women who do not like the regular cut shirts and wanted some different styles of shirt. They wanted a "cap" sleeve and I've found a good one in Alternate Apparel. I'm using a Glidan shirt for men's.T Shirt Wholesalers seem to be a good company- real fast delivery to Rhode Island. The prices seem good.
Re: best companies to purchase t-shirts wholesale?
I print shirts on demand and in a limited run. I try to have as little stock as possible. Does anyone do that sort of thing? And know of a company that has great prices for small orders?
Re: best companies to purchase t-shirts wholesale?
Usually most wholesales will give you case pricing but their shipping cost are way over priced. I used Staton wholesale a few times. Their pricing is good but shipping is murder. I did a price comparison between Staton and a online store. Online store beat them by 6 dollars. I know thats not great but money is money.

99% of my business is made on demand. I deal with mostly women, as I specialize in rhinestone shirts. Women are picky creatures (I know, because I AM one, he he) and if I make shirts to have on hand, it never fails they want scoop...not v-neck, etc. I highly recommend Kavio. I order almost everything I need from them. They have infant, toddler, youth, junior and women's sizes and TONS of styles to choose from. I pay less than $5.00 and in some cases less than $4 for a nice quality shirt.
I really dislike Bella brand, as I find they run small.
