perhaps an odd question but the reason I ask is that I have a t-shirt that has obviously been relabelled and printed on but is exactly the fit and quality I'd like to use for blanks myself.

The only clue is that the wash label has 'made in portugal' on it. It's a fitted style but not overly skinny, medium weight soft cotton (200gsm ish) with the neck seam covered.

any ideas?

nope, not a thing. Bit of a long shot I know.

I might mail the company that branded the t-shirt and see if they'll be kind enough to tell me but it seems unlikely. However, 'shy bairns get nae broth'* as they say round here

I am looking for something very similar, your old t shirt doesn't happened to be an old duffer shirt does it? Did you get any luck when you contacted the company?
