Default tee shirt inventory

I am looking into starting a business selling customer tees online. Ive decided on using plastisols for heat transfer to reduce inventory. I want to offer a few color shirts (i was originally thinking ten), but i am not sure how many I am going to need to stock. Offering sized from S - XL in both men and women
I soon realise my inventory will have to be huge! On the other hand i could give my customers a greater selection with less saving to me if I buy blank shirts locally as the orders come in. I could do this initially until I figure for demand of product and size. If anyone knows of any stores located in my area with a large selection of tees reply (i live in Suffolk on LI NY). ide like to knoe how you worked around the problem of inventory?

depending on where you buy, you can get over nite delivery with no extra costs. I would not stock small or medium...when I started I kept just 10-12 of L or XL...very few want tight tees..you cannot possibly stock enough of all colors, all sizes...get 50% up front and order..

Jiffyshirts.com will have them to you in 2 bus days or less for no extra cost where you're at. If you can't wait that long in the beginning, Michael's or AC Moore (arts & craft stores) usually have deals to get 100% cotton tees for between $2 + $3 each. They stock 20+ colors.

Why stock tees get overnight delivery from most large vendors. Most have wareghouses placed all over the country. At most I have about 50 shirts on hand. I use sanmar and Bodek and Rhodes

Check the major wholesalers and see which ones have a warehouse near you in New York.

Or search this section of the forum for "new york" to find past threads that link to wholesale t-shirt vendors in your area.
