I don't know about Fair Trade Federation, but Continental Clothing's manufacturing factory in Turkey was audited by Fair Wear Foundation: Continental Clothing - ETHICAL TRADE
No, not NAFTA. There is a federation called the Fair Trade Federation that has companies promise to provide fair wages and have no sweat shops for workers in foreign countries.
As far as I know, there is still no Fair Trade clothing certification for anything sold in the US. Only European. Oh, and it is usually only the manufacturing of the clothing that is certified, not the cotton growing... So not an easy process to find "good" companies... HaeNow Organic Tees: Certified Organic Cotton Fair Trade T Shirts - Hae Now and eConscious are two companies I use. Look under the Green Pages of Co-op America for other companies, although I recently had a retailer tell me they won't buy from me, because eConscious is on the Green Pages but isn't Fair Trade certified... Whatever. I try to do the best I can! Good luck.

No problem. I'm still learning myself. Sometimes the Fair Trade slope is slippery - since there isn't any 'real' certification for clothing. And now I've found out that even though I believe in Fair Trade, the Fair Trade stores seem to be without cash flow most of the time... At least in my area! So it is a difficult market to sell to. But I still believe it is the best path to follow, for so many reasons.
