Hey everyone. I was wondering if anybody knows or could help me find out where the company Modern Amusement gets their blanks. They may get them custom, but if not I would love to find out. I own many of their shirts and I love the fit and feel.
Is there any chance that contacting the company would land me an answer? I'm not sure if most companies would be willing to hand out production info like that. Anyway... any help would be appreciated.
Re: where to find these blanks? modern amusement!!
well... I sent the guys at Modern Amusement an email yesterday, and today I got the reply...
"All of our shirts are made overseas and they are all custom designed and fitted. I would suggest American Apparel tee's...."
Pretty much what I expected... i'm sure most large companies get custom blanks but it was nice of them to suggest a similar alternative, as American Apparel blanks do offer similar styles and quality.

That was nice of them to respond like that. Thanks for reporting back.
It's possible that they may have used American Apparel to get started before they could start getting their own custom blanks made. I'm totally guessing there, but some brands do "move their way up".
Re: where to find these blanks? modern amusement!!
yeah it's possible that they started off using AA shirts...
I also contacted another guy at MA asking about the inks and processes they use to achieve such an incredibly soft hand on some of their tees. They guy told me they use Hydrosol inks... does anybody know anything about this type of ink? I did a google and nothing really came up.
If this is what they use to achieve the best hand feel i've seen then I want to give it a try.

I have never heard of Hydrosol inks but I can be a web rat at times and found these links which seem related:
