.Where do you go to buy your shirts of like 10-20 per size that has cheap shipping
Hello,
I am new to this forum and love all of the great info however, there is sooo much I get lost...
I had a t-shirt business 4 years ago and I printed transfers from an ink jet printer and applied with a heatpress...The t-shirts that I used at the time I purchased from Wal-mart for 3.88 a shirt...However they have gone up to 5.00 now...I have looked at sites like Bodek and Rhodes and the prices are good however when you add the shipping charges you are still coming out paying 4 or 5 bucks a shirt..
Can anyone help me out.. I am looking to get started again but do not have hundreds of dollars to spend in huge shipping cost....Where do you go to buy your shirts of like 10-20 per size that has cheap shipping? I also reside in North Carolina if someone knows a place locally.
Thanks

shirtsupplier.com doesn't have any minimums and the shipping is pretty reasonable. You can order right from their site without setting up an account.
With SanMar and others like them you have to set up an account and then you will still need to buy whole cases until they agree to give you case pricing. Usually, doing one order from them will generate a call to you for the benefit but why bother if you can get the same thing from shirt supplier right off the bat?

Because it's possible to get case pricing from SanMar (and other major distributors that require accounts) without having to buy whole cases.
Also, the pricing from SanMar (and other distributors that require accounts) is lower than the pricing at shirtsupplier.com
For example, take a look at the neat "Market Pricing" graph at TSC Apparel - it shows their current price for Gildans compared the the current "market price". It's kind of like a stock ticker

My point was more that you need to establish and account and have a track record with sanmar to get case pricing where you can just order from shirt supplier.
The difference? Gildan 2000 6.1oz white is 1.41 from sanmar and 1.53 from shirt supplier. The difference in shipping is 31c less for shirt supplier so sanmar wins, but only after your first order.
We do order a lot from sanmar but we had a little run-in with them over $12 worth of spoiled goods that were poorly packed that they wanted to blame on the shipper but we thought the box was way over packed for the weight of the order. They offered to charge us for replacements but ended up giving us a 'credit' to a future order once they were reimbursed from UPS. We still have not realized the credit at this time.
We also had a problem with shirt supplier charging us sales tax on a wholesale account but they refunded all of the tax amount charged to us once it was resolved. We (I actually) didn't follow their instructions for a wholesale account so we were charged sales tax until we completed the verification process.
It is really kind of funny having a sellers permit that can be verified online and these guys all wanting a piece of paper, or worse yet a faxed copy from the State indicating we have a valid sellers permit. The paper only shows we might have a valid permit where the online verification or a call to the BOE verifies it.

Maybe the rules have changed then. When I opened my account with SanMar a few months ago, they gave me case pricing without being established or having a track record.
My main point though was that with the seller's permit, you can pick and choose from a wider range of suppliers which often give better pricing than the places that don't. The TSC price for Gildan (posted on their homepage) is $1.05
