Hi I'm new to this forum. Looked at some of the threads and thought people here may have an answer.
I own a graphic t shirt that's made by Gildan, so I tried ordering some blanks from online stores. When they arrived in the mail I realized the neck tags looked different, and the whole sizing on the shirt body isn't quite the same compared to the one I own. The new blanks I bought are almost a full size larger than the one I owned.
I looked around online and couldn't tell if I bought the right shirts. Here's a picture of the same tag on the one I own:
and here's what the tag on the blank ones I bought:
Is there a difference in tags and sizing on recent Gildan shirts? The one I owned said Activewear and Heavy Weight on it while the blanks I bought did not. Are the shirts with these different tags on them even the same model?
I tried purchasing two different style models for the blanks, #2000 and #G200. I don't know the difference between them (from online shop description G200 is preshrunk cotton and 2000 is not), but both of them came with the latter tag. Does someone know anything about this?

Re: Gildan ultracotton new and old tags/labels (?)
hi,
we're new too!
we've had a lot of stock (1000s) of gildan ultra heavyweight with both the new and old labels and i haven't noticed any difference? a lot of the time there is a bit of variation in sizes (mostly in 2XL & 3XL) and the occasional small sleeve sewn on a medium tee! they are pre-washed, but if you're comparing new fresh tees to one you own and have worn/washed, the fit is going to be different...
peace,
pistache

Re: Gildan ultracotton new and old tags/labels (?)
yes I did wash the one I own, but the difference in size is not only in the length, there's a difference of width for 2+ inches armpit to armpit, does this amount of shrinkage sound normal? I still remember how the sizing was on me when I first wore my Gildan shirt, and it did not fit like the new ones I just purchased. If it's not the case of new sizing on new tagged shirts, then I'm guessing the one I owned might be a smaller size that has been mislabeled..
By the way, do you happen to know if there's a difference in model #G200 and #2000? Are they supposed to be the same model as the older tagged "Gildan Activewear Ultra Cotton Heavy Weight" shirts? Are the #2000 and #G200 supposed to be the shirts I should be purchasing?

Re: Gildan ultracotton new and old tags/labels (?)
I've seen a couple of places refer to a G200, from memory I'm pretty sure in both cases it was because they had four digit product codes and use a letter code for the manufacturer. Had their system allowed for five characters, it would have been G2000. So while I can't be 100% certain, I'm fairly confident that G200 and 2000 are the same thing.
Re: Gildan ultracotton new and old tags/labels (?)
I've seen this as well. Sizing seems to be surprisingly inconsistent, and Gildan isn't the only one at fault. Our Hanes Silver shirts also tend to have some sizing oddities, and it can be pretty frustrating at times.
I don't really know what to tell you other than the fact that we've noticed it too :P
Re: Gildan ultracotton new and old tags/labels (?)
to be fair, we have tried almost all the major brands (and a lot of the smaller brands) and Gildan seems to be the one with the least amount of problems! there is no such thing as the perfect t-shirt in bulk!
