Hey, I'm interested in selling organic graphic tees but I wasn't sure what would be considered a reasonable price. Any ideas or input from anyone already in the field. Thank you.
The cost of the blanks are almost double the cost of regular ones.I seen some bamboo t's going for $38 in a shop in Seattle WA. i hope this helps ...JB
The added value of selling "Green" products is greater than it was a few years ago (thank you Al Gore). It used to be maybe 10% higher and that was only to a small cross-section of people that actually cared. Now things have changed and 90% of people consider themselves "somewhat" of an environmentalist. This trend has allowed the added value to rise to 25 - 35% higher than the non-ECO alternative. It's not quite the 50% needed to make up for the cost increase but you can certainly make money.
I would be extra cautious though to make sure anything you sell as organic is clearly labeled "100% certified organic cotton" and look at the certification. There are retailers selling "organic" with an organic cotton content of 5 - 10%. The public is getting more sophisticated and this type of "Green-washing" could ruin a small company.
Congrats, by the way, for the difference you're making.

Well, organic American Apparel shirts are the same price as their standard shirts but don't come in colors. I'm assuming since you want to model your shirts around organic tees, you'll want more than just "natural" as a color choice. In that case, American Apparel may not be your best choice.
Good luck, and one thing I always do is google anything that could help you find what you're looking for. It may be tedious, but you can find something if you really try!
Heya Monique,
went to the ISS show in Providence last week and the guy from NES Clothing (Welcome to NES) gave me the flyer on Anvil Organic. They have 10 colors, 5.0 oz (Style # OR420) and they are around $2.62 each. Will order some soon and see what they're like.

Thanks Mike. I checked it out but it seems that they only have male shirts. Unless the tee is actually unisex but being modelled by a male.
Hi everyone, I have recently ordered organic shirts from two different companies and am very happy with the quality of both. You might check out Hae Now and Econscious. -- Cheers, Paul

The lowest price I'm seeing at NES (which is the lowest I've found) is about 25% higher than that. Have the prices gone up that much in 3 months, or am I just not getting the lowest price?
