I'm new, and I tried to search for this, but didn't find anything, I'm writing my business plan for a baby apparel line, and am wondering about what suppliers of blanks will sew custom tags in (or provide tagless shirts). Also wondering about ballpark costs for this service?
Any details at all about customizing that portion of the shirt would be greatly appreciated.
The service your talking about is called private labeling and it can be pricey for the simple fact that you would have to buy so many shirts. I know american apparel does private labeling but you havr to buy like five to ten thousand pieces. Also alstyle apparel sell shirts with tear away labels.

Keep in mind that you don't have to get your labels put in at the manufacturer level. That has very high minimum order quantities.
Many screen printers now offer relabeling services which run between .25 - .75 per shirt. You provide the labels and they would sew them into the shirts for you and remove the manufacturer brand label. There are other places to get relabeling done as well (like seamstresses, relabeling companies, etc).
