I wanted to know if anyone knows of a tshirt mfg that places the care tag on the side of the shirt. I have some shirts from Banana that have the care tag on the left inside of shirt seam and the brand label on the neck line heat transfered on. I reallllllly like this, that way you dont need to remove the care tags and can apply your own label w/o all the fuss of removing, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS, have been reading the site off and on for a while and its great. Lots of decent info here.
I know of two US companies that do it. The thing is, those blanks aren't actually legal to sell. In one case it's a strange anomaly (they're just not legally compliant), in the other case the shirts are PFD so they're not yet finished - the care label is in the side, then you're expected to finish the job and make them legally compliant by including details like country of origin in the neck labels you add (which makes perfect sense for a PFD shirt - they're not sold as ready for sale).
In other words in the same way that it's difficult to find shirts with no labels at all (because you couldn't legally sell them as is) it's difficult to find shirts with no labels in the neck at all (for exactly the same reason - you can't legally sell them as is).
I know your message regarding the PFD shirt was a while back ago, but I'd be interested to know more abou this company. We are making our own brand labels and could easily put the rest of the compliant info on the label.
If you know the company name and/or have any experience with the PFD process I'd love to hear about it.

Lots of companies offer Prepared for Dye t-shirts.
You can get any t-shirt you want though and relabel it with your own brand. It doesn't have to be a tagless tee or a PFD tee for you to relabel it.

There are a few companies that do PFD, but the one I was referring to above is Alternative Apparel; PFD used to be something that they emphasised on the front page of their website, but now it's not even listed. I'm not sure if it's something they still offer or not (although they do still do custom manufacture, which is at least a good sign). I don't currently use PFD shirts (although I'll probably dabble in it some day).
I'm currently trying to find some stock care label that contains:
100% cotton
Made in Mexico
Wash Cold
Tumble Dry
No (or low) Iron
Anyone had any luck finding a company that carries a variety of stock care labels? I would prefer not to have them woven myself as I only need a couple of hundred. Or, maybe someone more experienced then myself (which would be virtually everyone on this site!) knows of an inexpensive way to make custom care labels in smaller quantities.
I'm running into the need for these care labels because Alstyle is using a tear away tag in the shirt I need, versus the two part (brand and care tag) that they use in some of their other shirts.
What about the idea of heat transferring the care label to the back of the shirt? I'm in the same boat with trying to find tagless shirts and actually was on the phone with Alstyle today. With the mens shirt they offer with the tear away tag, you would just heat press all the info on the inside (back) of the shirt...sound good? What are your thoughts?
I've seen shirts with some info silk screened or heat pressed into the neck line. I don't have any experience with heat press. Anything you know about this would be helpful. Such as, where do you get the transfers from in the small quantities that would be needed. Can just an iron be used to apply it, or would I need to buy special equipment.
I was told by my silk screener that it would be cheaper to insert a tag than to silk screen on the inside of the shirt. Apparently, the set up for screening on the inside (presumabely turning the shirt inside) is time consuming and therefore more costly.
I'm very disappointed that Alstyle won't just sell me the care tags that go with the shirt. They have them, and use them for their relabel service, but I don't know if I can make there 576 piece minimum to do this.
Anyone else who has ideas on how to solve the care label problem..HELP!

You may want to start a new thread for this question since it is sort of veering off the original posters topic
