Quality is subjective, and "on a budget" is very relative - for some that would mean American Apparel, for some it would mean they couldn't even afford Gildan.

Generally speaking if you want something cheap that isn't going to fall apart you want to look at the standard major brands: Gildan, Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, etc. You can't really go wrong with any of those, just try out a few samples and see which brands you prefer.

I use Alstyle Apparel shirts. I think they are pretty good quality and are affordable.

I just recieved a sample of Alstyle 1701 Ringspun tee and the feel and quality both seem very good. Not to mention the wholesale prices from Alstyle are pretty reasonable as well.

Just washed and dried the Gildan, Hanes Beefy T and Alstyle. The gildan and beefy t both had considerable shrinkage, the alstyle seem to shrink very little if any at all.
