Re: Really Silly Question: how many tees in a case? As Rodney said, for standard t-shirts it's normally 72. Some places use cases of 36 for plus sizes on standard tees.
That said, it can vary quite a lot: to use AA as an example (because they offer more products than anyone else), many of their cases are 144 (about 125, versus about 25 with a case size of 72). They also have cases of 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 / 60 / 84 / 96 / 120 / 132 / 168 / 180 / 192 / 216 / 240.
Mostly as you'd expect - expensive items not as many people want a large quantity of at the lower end, cheap items it's not worth selling small quantities of at the upper end. It tends to make for fairer pricing for both customer and wholesaler. An example of a twelve case is the fleece blanket, an example of a 240 case is their spandex headband (both are one of only two items with those case numbers, they tend to cluster more).
Some of these case sizes are more common than you might think (there are nine items that have a case size of 168 for example). So "it depends" but for standard tees, almost always 72.
