Default Make your own = cut and sew

HI all,
I am in QLD Australia and as fellow aussies are probably aware there is a serious lack of high quality wholesalers in Australia. I am starting to contemplate purchasing fabric and getting a manufacturer to make my own. Can anyone tell me how I would go about doing this and approximate costs (i.e. is it going to be ridiculously expensive) At the moment I can get really great shirts from Article1 however with shipping costs they end up being $8-$10 per shirt.
Thanks guys xx

It would be quite expensive if you decided to import your own yarn and then cut and sew it together yourself. I dont think it will be feasible unless you are producing thousands and thousands of garments a year.

I'm sure there are local Australian manufacturers around you area who are willing to cut and sew for you but I doubt it will end up cheaper then what you have been quoted from Article1.

Hi everybody, have been very shy about responding to anything (because I'm still trying to work out and get my head around the very basics) and have been away for a few weeks doing the ever-ellusive search for shirts in Australia myself.

I've noticed that American Apparel have documented that they are soon to open something in Oz (nothing mentioned as to how soon or where) so that could be interesting!

As to the Asia question....I have found sifting through web sites very tedious.
Does anybody else have the same problem?

Apart from that I'm still scratching my head though and will continue the hour by hour search on the internet for something.

On a different subject though.....does anyone know of a great wholesaler to purchase Hot-Fix Swarovski Crystals from?

cheers

It's more the cost of labour which will makeup the final price of the garment.
