Default Promotional vs Fashion shirt

I have seen these two terms used to refer to t-shirts.
I assume (oh-oh) that a promotional tshirt is of lower quality and cheaper to purchase while the fashion shirt is the opposite.
Is that a correct assumption ?
If so what is a good promotion shirt to buy for the promotional purpose. ?

Thanks
Mark

That's the idea, yes. There's a middleground too, for which no obvious term is springing to mind ("standard"?).

That said a lot of the time I actually prefer what people call "promotional" shirts. It normally just means they're 5.4-5.6oz as opposed to 6.1oz. Same major brands (Gildan, Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, etc.), same quality (or lack thereof depending on your point of view), just a lighter weight fabric (which not everyone regards as a bad thing).

Whatever the distributor has on special that week is probably a good bet. FotL 50/50 Best is a generally cheap shirt, but weekly specials would trump that.
