So we pulled the old T-Jet 3 out of the storage and are in the middle of getting it going. I have the following issues :
When we turn the T-Jet on the counter light showed 1 but there is no movement and the whole thing locks up.
I removed the cover and on the large circuit board there was a fuse blown( it has the removable fuse holders)
I disconnected the power to the epson board which has the printhead ribbon cables and was able to use the bed movement and power on and off buttons so it has to be the Epson board.
I disconnected the ribbon cables from the Epson board that go to the printhead and the fuse blowed out again so I guess that eliminates the ribbon cables to the head.
My questions are, is there something else that is connected to the Epson board causing the fuse to blow or is it a bad main board!
there are a couple of fuses that blow on the epson board. you can solder a external fuse on those too. there is one near the heat sink (F1) and one on the back in about the same spot (F2)
They are already there, and those fuses did not blow. Even if I unplug every single ribbon cable, sensor etc and just plug in the main plug the fuse on the side board blows and locks up the unit. In my opinion it must be the main board unless I miss something. I hate to buy a board and fry it as soon as I hook it up.
The fuse that is blowing is on the control board, not the epson board. Like I stated before, even when everything from the epson board is unhooked other that the power cable to the epson board the fuse blows. If I leave the epson board unhooked I can control the unit, power on and off, load and unload
