How does it improve the underbase? Can you import custom underbases?

I too just got mine installed but am having a problem seeing the choke of the underbase white on a RIP preview. I have changed the setting from min to max and tried on a couple of different files. Any thoughts?

From Brian in our Support Department:

It will depend on the image. Make sure the original image dpi is at 300. Then run the underbase, choking it by max. Send it to print through the RIP. Then in the RIP rip the file. Now click on View Raw Data. In the View Raw Data window click on the color plane window. Change the substrate color to black. In the Layers, uncheck Layer 2 (CMYK). Zoom in to a section of the image. Put the check back on Layer 2. As the window resets itself it will show the underbase layer choked.

If you have any difficulties seeing this, we can remote access your computer to help.

Thanks Brian, I have found that the choke behavior is fine as long as the image is brought into Easy Artist and then sent to the RIP. If imported directly into the EASY RIP the controls are lost. This is also true if sent to the RIP from another application such as Corel x4 or Serif DRAWplus x3.

Hello,

Can you guys tell me how long it took Equipment Zone to send out the update disks for EZ Artist/Rip? I placed the order for the update on Monday and was promised that it will be ready in two days for download and CDs to mailed out later. Now I'm getting an email from Equipment Zone saying that it will take them at least til the following Monday to have it ready.

I know that they have to generate new .lcf files to match the dongle but it shouldn't take over a week!

Now I can tell all my friends and family that their Christmas shirt presents will have to wait until after Christmas.

It's also amazing that my credit card was charged and funds was cleared to Equipment Zone the same day!!

Maybe I should've gone with MRGP or EK Print

I too have a similar problem. I spoke with them two times about upgrading. We even talked about downloading the software because I needed it sooner. As soon as I gave them my credit card THEN they told me it would probably be a week! I haven't signed the reciept yet. I almost feel like canceling and trying to find a 2.0 license instead. At least then my two t-jets will be using the same version of the software.

Yes, I ordered over the phone w/ Justin. Then confirmed w/ Alex via e-mail. They both said that it should be ready no later than 2 days!

Honestly, the only reason why I chose EZ Artist/Rip is that I already have Fast Artist/Rip that came w/ my T2. I've demoed Multi-Rip GP and EK Print, both are very easy to use...even for a DTG newbie like me.

I would like someone from Equipment Zone explain on this thread as to why it would take that long for the upgrade.

It is also common practice for any decent retailer to not charge and clear any credit card until the product is either available, shipped or ready to be shipped.
