How does it improve the underbase? Can you import custom underbases?

What are the benefits you see from upgrading? I have Fast Artist 2.0 and Fast Rip 10..Is it worth it?

I too just got mine installed but am having a problem seeing the choke of the underbase white on a RIP preview. I have changed the setting from min to max and tried on a couple of different files. Any thoughts?

From Brian in our Support Department:

It will depend on the image. Make sure the original image dpi is at 300. Then run the underbase, choking it by max. Send it to print through the RIP. Then in the RIP rip the file. Now click on View Raw Data. In the View Raw Data window click on the color plane window. Change the substrate color to black. In the Layers, uncheck Layer 2 (CMYK). Zoom in to a section of the image. Put the check back on Layer 2. As the window resets itself it will show the underbase layer choked.

If you have any difficulties seeing this, we can remote access your computer to help.

Thanks Brian, I have found that the choke behavior is fine as long as the image is brought into Easy Artist and then sent to the RIP. If imported directly into the EASY RIP the controls are lost. This is also true if sent to the RIP from another application such as Corel x4 or Serif DRAWplus x3.
