Default Printing Logo With Underbase

Hi,

I have just been trying to print a logo onto a dark coloured shirt. I was surprised to find that it has not underbased the black part of the logo. Does anyone know if that is what I should expect? I just assumed it would underbase the whole area of the logo then print the black on top.

Also, it has left a fine white line around the whole of the logo. I can't be a choke issue as it is about 5mm outside of the logo all of the way round!!

And I thought I had got the hang of this underbase printing and something new happens!!!!

Thanks for any help.

Angela.

I can't say about the white ring, but I can tell you that you never underbase black or it will turn gray. Black is Black.

The white ring may be because of anti-aliasing around the logo. If you zoom waaaaay in on the logo, do you still see a white crisp clean edge, or is it a little fuzzy? If it is fuzzy, the program is trying to underbase those semi-translucent pixels. The underbase goes down, the translucent pixels go on top of it, and the end result is a white ring around your logo. Fix this by making sure anti-aliasing is NOT checked in photoshop when you use the magic wand tool.

Hi,
Thanks for your help. Yes I suppose black onto the white would turn out greyish!
Thanks for the photoshop advice. Having zoomed right out I can see what you mean so I will follow your advice and hopefully it will work.
Will let you knnow how I get on.
Thanks again.
Angela.
