Well guys I feel like a kid in a candy store right now. I just printed my first light colored T-shirt and it looks great. I was a little worried because I purchased a used printer that had just been refurbished but everything seems to be doing ok.
I am doing a test was on the first shirt right now. I am going to send it through the wash 4 or 5 times drying it on low heat between each wash.
After I play around with light color shirts for a few days it is on to Darks. Looking at the new Fast Artist and Fast RIP software it will be interesting to see how well the auto underbase feature works

Update colors are looking great on light shirts. I am having a small problem with the new EZ Artist version 2.0 when printing on dark shirts.
If I allow EZ Artist to automatically create the underbase when I import the graphics then everything looks great. If I try to use the Underbase Wizard I keep getting a 1/4 inch vertical offset between the white and color.
Also I am having problems getting the RIP to print multiple white passes on the same shirt. I set the EZ Rip to Photo 720 2 passes but it will only print one white pass then it prints the color.
Anybody else out there using 2.0 and having this issue.

We use FastArtist / FastRip but they should be the same as EZ.
"If I try to use the Underbase Wizard I keep getting a 1/4 inch vertical offset between the white and color."
When using Wizard you should have 4 options
1. Wizard
2. Heavy
3. Normal
4. Last Setting
Select 1. Wizard
We have ours set at
Strength = 0
Light = 80
Dark = 20
Choke = 0
Click next
No Highlight
These are our settings you may wish to play with and adjust as needed.
"I set the EZ Rip to Photo 720 2 passes but it will only print one white pass then it prints the color."
Photo 720 2 pass means that the printer will print in both directions. Left and Right
To print multiple under bases
while in EZ Rip / Fast Rip setup select the Under base setup tab. That will give you the options of Under base print modes and the number of under base coats.
Set this to how many coats
Again this is for Fast Artist / Fast Rip but I believe they are almost the same as EZ
I meant number of underbase repeats. I have it set on the EZ Rip to 2 and have even tried 4 but the setting does not do anything.
I used the same wizard settings it still has a 1/4 inch offset between color and white.

Hi,
I just sent you a PM. Our support department will help you with this issue first thing in the morning.
By the way, Photo 720 2 passes just means that the printer prints about 3/4 the amount of ink it would normally print if it was printing at just Photo 720. That makes sense if you're printing two passes of colors and don't want to oversaturate your image. However, my recommended setting for a T-Jet 2 would be Photo 720 HS or Photo 1440 HS, printing just a single pass of color.
Thanks Alex, the T-Jet 2 is working flawlessly. I know I didn't purchase it from the EquipmentZone but the person I bought it from had just had you guys refurbish it so I got an EquipmentZone refurbished printer for 1/2 the price.
Right now I am just playing around with the setting to see what works best for me. I found that the 720 HS is a great setting. It is not as slow as 1440 and it still prints at a great resolution.
I solved the 1/4 inch vertical offset issue it must have been a corrupted file when I tried the underbase wizard on a different image it worked fine.
The only issue I am having now is the repeating underbase passes, it just will not work no matter how many passes I set it for it only prints 1 pass.

Thanks maneca, now that I can print I need to get the website up and running. I am still looking for some affordable online T-Shirt design software.

Where exactly are you setting the number of underbase passes?
Just a note - on the T-Jet 2 printer you should only have to print one pass of white and one pass of color for great results. We print all of our samples here that way.
I go to manage Queue and select the Dark Prints Queue that I setup. A popup window opens called Queue properties. Under settings I select Import Options and at the bottom of that page there are two settings one for number of Underbase repeats and one for Color passes.

Thanks to all the equipmentzone guys. Justin loaded a newer version of the EZ Rip today and that fixed the underbase pass issue. He also made some changes to the setting that improved the performance.
Everything is working great. Now to catch up on some orders.
