Everything looks great, but it looks like the black ink is laying down too much and cause an over spray effect on my outlining (countor) of letters. any thoughts would help

If it's an overspray, and just on black... you may just need to do a head clean and possibly clean your wiper. If the overspray more to one side, try printing unidirectional and check the level of the platten. If the shirt is too far away from the print head, it would do this, but more likely on all colors.

I think Ian is on the right track with the print head distance from the shirt possibly being too great which would cause a fuzzy look. Keep in mind that when you print black it is not printing black ink only but a combination of colors to create the black.
If it is only happening with black try printin pure blacks only. Most decent RIP softwares have this as an option at print time. If your RIP does not offer this option, convert your blacks to a more pure black and see if you still get the same issue.

Kathy,
What are you printing at - 1440 or 720? Is this a print with a white underbase or are you printing just a color pass. Did you check the spacing from the print head to your shirt to see if it was too far away?
Seemed to have disappeared after several head cleaning and good wipe on the encoder strip, wiper etc....
Over spray stopped. maintence, maintence maintence can't stress that enough. I'm back up and printing. Need to make some money for that new printer Harry's got
