Need to Register?

Hi all,

I have a problem with an old Tjet 1. Basically, the wiper blade is stuck in the printhead wiping position (ie it doesn't pul back out of the way during a print). It is causing a lot of issues with printability as it keeps contaminating the printhead with dirty residue.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm assuming a TJet1 is based on an Epson 2200? When it tries to do a head clean, do you hear the motor trying to move? Does the wiper move freely or is it stuck? Best guess is either a plastic piece broke or the gear stripped? Can you see the little rubber belt that controls the movement of the wiper blade?

Hi Rodney,

How old is your capping assembly? The assembly is a wear part and should be replaced about every 12 months if you have been taking care of it.

It sounds like the wipers are dirty as well and haven't been cleaned in a while.

Your best course of action is probably to replace the capping assembly.
