Default Fastartist / FastRip 1.5 Hot Folders Help

Does anyone here use the hot folder feature in Fast Rip?

Are there US Screen instructions?

Can you do 3 different designs on the Blazer Pro?

Thanks,
Andy

You can print 3 different designs on your Blazer Pro Printer at the same time. Use the Blazer Pro Standard 3-Up Template in your FastArtist software and drag in your 3 pieces of art.

Harry,

Sorry I should have been more clear. I was referring to using the hot folders feature in the rip.

I was wondering how to set up the hot folder and wondering if I could drop in 3 separate designs and have them print in order.

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

In FastArtist / FastRIP 1.5.1 you have to drop in your 3 separate designs in FastArtist, then open up FastRIP.

Just curious, didn't someone buy the rights to the US Screen product names like FAST Artist and FAST Rip? Seems that they would be wanting some royalties on the names? Same seems to be the case with the inks as well. Maybe Mark would know the answer to this.

Harry,

I think you are missing what I'm asking. I've used Fastartist for a year and understand how to use it in a standard loading of graphics.

I'm asking if anyone has information about the HOT FOLDERS feature of fast rip.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi,

Hot folders are a set of commands to print to the same specification for every job dropped onto that particular hot folder. If you set this up you will need a hot folder for every type of setting you use. Its a feature we use more on EFI Fiery rips that are for high production and need to handle hundreds of files in one day.

Its a bit overkill for a Blazer Pro as you can drop and rip quicker than the machine can print the shirts.

I have an instruction sheet back at the office for the latest version of that rip (not called fastrip any more), if you would like me to email it to you drop me a PM.

Thats what I was looking for.

I have multiple machines so if the artwork gets loaded quicker and easier then my employee can move on to another printer.

We have implemented hot folders with our Mod 1 and its helped speed up our production significantly.

Thanks, Andy

Hello Andy,

What you really need to do is upgrade to the latest software, which Equipment Zone is now selling as EZ RIP / EZ ARTIST.
In the latest version you can use the templates feature and this also is linked to hot folders, so you can have a separate hot folder for each shirt board on a Blazer Pro for example.

This was developed specifcally for an Zazzle an internet printing company with 30+ Blazers and I think is exactly what you are looking for.

Best regards

-David

Here is a page from the EZ Artist / EZ RIP manual describing how the hot folders works.
