Default Service Req. 00010001

After the first pass of a multipass print job the printer will throw a service req error 00010001. This happens after the shirt bed has moved back to the home position and the display reads "pause" just before the service req error comes up. On successful multipass prints it reads "Paper Out" immediately after going from "Printing" after the bed homes.

The problem is sometimes resolved for a short time by powering off (both printer and power supply), then back on - other times not.

In some cases it will not reset back to roll/scissors cut (after a successful print) - but only back to roll instead.

The situation occurred shortly after a capping station was replaced. Looking into the error it seems related to a paper feed issue however and not carriage - so this may not be relevant.

Bed rails have been loosened, belt tension, etc - has not changed, no rubbing/abrasion of any type observed. Shirt Bed moves freely/smoothly.

Thoughts? Ideas? - One other thing that seems to clean things up for a minute is to hit pause on the power start up process - it then seems to make it through the passes ok once it's post'd.

Yep - looked into that, it's not the issue in this case. There is no binding/skipping/jerking/etc - and everything is well oiled/cleaned.

I should note that the error comes up when the bed is not moving (but has finished homing after the first pass). The first pass will always print without any issues - it's just between that and subsequent passes that the issue will come up.

I think this might be a software/firmware? issue - I hit "pause" on startup - and have now printed 4 multipass shirts without incident. (did the same thing last night)

Perhaps this is something where the epson driver and the modified firmware are creating the error condition?

Tentatively - it looks like one of the two sensors for bed positioning in the front of the bed could be the issue.

It seems that they either go bad, or the connections go bad at some point.

With that in mind - the left side (panasonic) seems to go back into print mode (print button flashing) before the right side (epson) is finished with it's normal end of print pass gyrations.

Other then one of the sensors being out of whack - is there any other circumstance that anybody can think of that would create this type of error condition?
