hello everybody
got a problem with my t jet 2
after getting the machine back to work again
(was down after a short)
i did some headcleans with cleaning cartiges inside
and after some time the yellow ink light got solid
i liftet the cartrige and put it back in
but light is still solid
turned off the machine powered on again
and right after i hit the power button the yellow ink light is solid
even before the cariage moves from side to side
turned the printer off and took the magenda cartrige out before power on again
and as i thought only yellow is solid right after the power up
the light magenda comes on after the 2 times moving of the carriage
then put the magenda in light goes away but yellow still solid
changed the ribbon cable and the carriage the print head is new
but still solid light
please help any ideas
It sounds like the ink chip may be bad. I would replace the yellow ink chip and then try again. You can also try first to clean the chip with a pencil eraser. If that does not work, then just replace the chip Let us know if this fixes it for you.

The easiest way to check if you have a bad chip on the T-Jet 2 is to unclip the bulk system cartridge set from the print head carriage assembly and plug in the cleaning cartridge set you should have (hopefully the refillable kind). If the ink light that was lit no longer lights then it's a better then good chance it's a bad chip on that particular cartridge on your bulk system. Obviously this would apply in reverse if an ink light went on when you were using the cleaning cartridge set.
You should also check the gold prongs in your carriage assembly and make sure none are bent. The prongs are what contact the chips and relay the chip information.
