Default trouble w/ install of fastartist/rip

I am new to this whole tshirt printing. I just recently bought a red fast tjet. I was installing the fastartist, fastrip and my first problem was that the rip could not find the printer package. So I uninstalled and now when I insert the cd it goes to the e drive and does nothing. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Have you been able to reinstall FastArtist? Try inserting the disc into your computer, then going to My Computer and clicking on the CD. It should automatically bring up the installer.

After you've installed FastArtist and are configuring the printer packages in FastRIP, you have two options. You can tell the software to search your CD drive automatically, which is the best option. Or, you can point the software to the folder on the CD where your printer packages are located. Please note that the printer packages CD is different from the main install CD.

Default Re: trouble w/ install of fastartist/rip

help...
after running our T-jet printer for a few weeks (happily) yesterday I got an error in fast artist that required a re-install of that program... did try installing over the top but when that didn't work just renamed the old program folder and set about doing a clean install... no probs I thought

all seemed well until I went to print... the file gets processed as ususal, even in fastrip everything seems ok but... nothing happens at the printer end

so to test the communication between pc and printer I tried to send a file to the printer just using the epson 2200 driver and got a 'paper out error'

so then I deleted the printer drivers and rebooted the pc... fresh install of the epson 2200 and T-jet2 drivers and still no comunication to the printer... now it says that it can't find the printer using the epson 2200
but xp found the hardware and setup the epson driver it'self so I know it got the right port and such

so I checked the port and it all looks fine, just like I remembered it before the re-install

so what I realy need now is a step by step explaination of setting up the printer drivers properly, because I have obviously done something wrong... it was working great so I know I set this all up last time the 'right way' but I figure I must have missed a step or forgotten to check something along the way this time

I have searched the forums all day today and can't find anything to help... so please can some one who 'has a clue' help me see the trees for the forrest

and yes I did remember to check the control panel check box in the printer management

the epson 2200 is set to Lpt1... the T-Jet2 installs in a different port that I thought I had to change to Lpt1 as well... thats right yes?

cheers
gail

fixed it!!!
little voice in the back of my head has been pointing me toward the epson driver all day
but I couldn't see any problem with it, un-installed and re-installed all day trying to work out what could be wrong with it... and then I remembered that I had downloaded (on another pc) the latest driver for the 2200 when we first got the printer
found... installed... worked...yipee!!!
I knew it was my fault all along, I also knew it had to be something simple

cheers
