Default 50/50 Light Colored Hoodies

I have the first job which includes light colored hoodies. Staff ordered fleece hoodies that are 50/50. Just getting the hang of all cotton, lights and dark tees.

What differences do I take into consideration when doing these hoodies????

Thanks everyone!

Our procedure on 50/50 products is to do two light passes instead of one heavier layer of printing. Then when curing we flash for 30 seconds by hovering the heat press, and then cure normally. The prints on 50/50 in general are not as vivid as the 100% cotton surfaces, but in doing it this way it is pretty close and very washable so the extra time is worth it in customer satisfaction.

If you are using DuPont inks, they may react a little differently from what our DTGInks do, so you may want to test this out and wash one to see how it does.

if your using a tjet then you are using dupont inks. the color profiles are created for these inks only. if you use any other inks then your colors will not look right or vivid.

white 50/50 blends will be fine but will not look as vibrant. selecting a 2 pass print mode will help. if you have never used a 2 pass print mode before, its not just as simple as selecting the 2 pass and printing it. you will also have to select 2 copies in your file properties in FastRip. if you print 2 passes of a standard print mode then your are putting down to much ink and your colors will look dark. this will not work on 50/50 blends or white polyestor.

I wouldn't have used 50/50 o the hoodies.

I print bare minimum 80/20 but normally 90/10 on sweatshirts and hoodies, although a few bucks more than 50/50 the prints can't compare and I do not need to listen to people chew my ear off over the lack of quality.

I hang a printed 50/50 in our retail store alongside a 90/10 and point out the 90/10 cost a few dollars more.

IMO its not worth attempting or wasting time trying to get an "ok" 50/50 print.

Of course these are just my 2 cents.

Great way to do it though. Always show the customer the good quality compare to the bad and 9 times out of 10 people will spend a little more for good quality. Thats how you sell.
