After about 10 perfect prints my T-Jet 2 goes through the motion of printing but no ink comes out. Can someone please suggest possibly why this keeping happening? We have contacted support at Equip Zone and US Screen and Atlas Screen many times already for this problem but it never seems to permanently help. Usually after we shut down our computer and unplug the printer usb and power, it will start working again. As far as maintenance and ink levels everything is perfect....new parts and everything.
Have you cleared out your print queues? Also I would check your ribbon cables and make sure there is no scorching. It sounds like the communication is getting disrupted. You may possible need to replace your ribbon cables.

From the symptoms you list the most likely cause is a software issue, especially if you can shut down your computer, restart it, and everything is printing again. I would try uninstalling your FastArtist/FastRIP software and reinstalling it. You might also try another usb cable. If you have another computer available try installing the FastArtist on it and running the printer from it to rule out the problem being something in your current computer.
Ok, went ahead and replaced the ribbon cable. And now I am having a completely different problem. Where the ink cartridges lights are becoming steady red lights once I power up with the red error button lighting up too. I after picking them up and taking them out a ton of times...plus letting the machine sit overnight...I am still getting the lights as if the ink is out. I got it down to only one ink cartridge lighting up. Any suggestions other than needing a new carrier???
I had a big order I was supposed to get out today and of course...its now delayed!!!
Getting really frustrated with this T-jet...it makes great prints if we can ever get it working properly!!
Oh, I also tried replacing the ink cartridges and that didn't solve the problem either.
if the carriage assembly (where the print head sits) sticks it could cause your flashing lights. Sticking might be due to dirty bushings on the carriage assembly or the bulk ink system ink chain putting a drag on the assembly. To check, shut off the printer, snap out the bulk system cartridges from the print head. Put in a cleaning cartridge set. Disconnect the bulk system chain from the carriage assembly. Slide the carriage assembly back and forth and check that it glides smoothly. If it does, turn on the printer and see if it goes through a normal cycle. If it does, put your bulk system chain and cartridges back in and see if also goes through a normal cycle. If it does not then your problem is the chain assembly.
We reinstalled the print head cables, and the encoder strip. Got it working but now it was showing the blue as clogged. Ran it through cleaning cycles and it didn't improve. So we ahead and replaced the print head. Printer working great now except our first problem is back. Where after 9 prints it goes through the motion of printing and but no ink comes out. We tried shutting down and restarting everything and nada. However, if we raise the print bed and hit print, the image prints on the print bed. Then we lower the print bed and put the shirt in and it will print the image again.
Can someone explain why it stops printing on the shirt but the minute you raise the print head it prints it on there???

Not to sure what you mean by this. The printer does not know how high the bed is unless it crosses the height adjustment beam. If it triggers that beam than it will stop printing all together and the bead also will not move.
Another thing you might want to look at is if your using USB 2.0 connection. If you have an old computer, USB Hub, or cable that is 1.5 than you will get problems like this. Also try not to connect to an extension USB to your cable to make it longer. You only want to use one cable.
If you wait till Monday then someone can do a Netview session with you because it sounds like it is a software issue. But try wait Harry said and reinstall your software.
