Default info on t-jet 2?

Anyone know the going rate on a used t-jet 2 printer and if it is a good starter printer for whites and dark shirts?

It is a great starter printer and is light and portable if need be. There is a small learning curve with the graphics software that it comes with, but can print from Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Draw. Equipment Zone sells new ones for about $9000 and I guess the going rate for a used one would be anywhere from $5000 to $7000. Depends on who is selling it and how much use the printer got. I myself found a seller who was selling a T-Jet 1 for $2500 that was pratically new on ebay.

The T-Jet 2 has not been produced since mid-2007, the company that manufactured the machine for US Screen has never received an order for any of the proprietary boards in the machine - the concern with this is long term that these boards will get harder to replace as the only ones in circulation have been "harvested" from dead machines. If new boards do pop up they would be counterfiet and potential lawsuit material for "intelectual properties" violations.

With several thousand sold, the Fast T-Jet 2 Printer is the largest volume model in the industry. It is a twin to the DTG Kiosk II Printer (with the T-Jet having some unique features like a pass counter that automatically reloads the bed into the printer on multiple pass jobs). We have a large inventory of every T-Jet 2 part, all new, in stock.

Actually it was a pre-cursor to the Kiosk/Kiosk II, the Kiosk II has a built ink white ink management system that does automatic head cleanings and allows for simple reset of the ink chips with the press of a button, not requiring the removal of cartridges - preventing possible ink leakage. The Kiosk and Kiosk II are sold and supported by finanacially stable entities in the apparel decorating marketplace throughout the world that still have direct contact with manufacturer for original OEM parts.
