When printing underbase a hint of another color will show up. not much but enough to make the white not a clean bright white. Happens after about 3 prints can be black or blue or red. Machine cleaned every day capping station fairly new. printing 1440 white one pass with a 720 color pass
print head approx 1 year old
Thanks
Make sure that white ink level always is 10-15mm higher than the CMYK ink levels. Otherwise the colors can get in to the white cassettes and causing bad colored underbase.

Thanks Peter Do that ink not getting in white cartridges only happen in the print process
I don't understand what you mean but CMYK-ink will go thru the printhead and back up into the white cassettes if white ink level is to low (negative pressure). This will happen even if the printer is turned off.

Ink level isn't the issue
what is happen is that it seem that the print head fires one of the colors (red blue or black) when it not called for causing the underbase to look pink or gray or light blue (very faint). It come and goes
Try cleaning your encoder strip or putting in a new one. Also clean the gear on the motor driving the belt that moves your print head. Make sure to clean out the grooves in the gear.
To prevent any possible syphoning issue of colored ink into your white I suggest putting a 1/2 inch spacer under your white ink bottle, if you have the US Screen bulk ink system. Raising the bottle will increase the pressure in the white hoses and cartridges, reducing the chance of any colored ink getting into the white. Peter is also correct in telling you to keep the ink levels in your white ink bottle higher then in your colored bottles.
I check encoder strip again here is a sample shoulb pure white blue creeps in aat the top and black later <a href="http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x226/69twofinner/?action=view¤t=Untitled-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x226/69twofinner/Untitled-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Hard to tell from that blurry picture but I would do things in this order:
1. Check ink levels on white (and re-prime cartidges to clean out discolored ink).
2. Clean encoder strip and encoder wheel with window cleaner.
3. Make sure that pump & capstation is working (fill it with window cleaner and suck with a syringe thru the waste tube).
4. Clean cap, scrapers and around printhead from old ink.
5. Check distance between shirt and printhead.
6. Check humidity level (30-50%) to avoid static electric.
7. Turn off the printer and unplug it for a minute. Plug in and start it up.
