We just recently purchased a T Jet2 on Ebay. Replaced capping station, encoder strip, new head. Do you have any tips for starting to print, anything that I need to look for? The only problem is sometimes the humidity lurks around 40%. How should I store the ink between printings as I might not print every day. Sorry were new to this and any help would be appreciated.
Get something that will measure the humidity right next to your printer. The printer will work better at 50% humidity... but I have seen people run at 40% - just expect to do more cleanings.

When we get ready to print a job, that we've never printed before, we always keep a pretreated shirt on hand to do test prints on. We then print a small sample of the print that's maybe 25% of the original size. That way you can make sure colors are correct, and that the image is correct before running your job.
Also, I always do a light head cleaning (holding the ink button down for about 5 seconds) before I run a job. You should do this periodically every 10 shirts or so during a job as well.

Hi,
Most users don't print every day, but it's still best to print as often as possible. Even if you don't have a job to do, try to print sample shirts, especially shirts using white ink. Otherwise, you can set FastRIP to perform automatic head cleanings on days you're not there.
If you're going to leave the machine for a longer period, pop out the bulk system cartridges and put in cleaning cartridges (refillable or non-refillable). Run one or two head cleanings to get ink out of the print head. Then, put a few drops of cleaning fluid on the capping station. Finally, turn off the printer using the power button (a very important step). As for the bulk system, you can put the cartridges into a Ziploc bag or put a piece of painter's masking tape over the nozzles to keep air out. Then close the caps to the bottles.
