It does sound like something with our communication is the problem. As far as the printhead it is a standard part. You can purchase them at compassmicro.com and it might be a bit cheaper thru there.
You can also contact Harry at equipmentzone.com and he can probably help as well. I know he sells the parts also, and is very active on the forum here, and helps a ton with our members. Maybe him or Alex will jump in here to give you a hand, as I am not sure about the way your printhead is printing. I have not heard of anyone else having this type of issue. I know I didnt help much

Have you tried to do a nozzle check directly from the epson print driver? How does the nozzle check come out?
