Default Fast Artist Question

Hello!

I like to design in Corel Draw. The problem I'm having is when I bring a jpg file into Fast Artist, I can never get the proper color or ICC to match the one in Corel. Please can someone tell what I need to do? Oh, I'm Printing to a T-jet2 with these files....

S.Y.

Make sure when you export the jpg, that you have no color management on.

I am told you should try this when using Corel Draw.

In Corel Draw go to File/Print. Select the printer driver. Go to the Misc tab. Uncheck Apply ICC profile. If Apply ICC profile is checked then Corel Draw tries to assign a Generic CMYK printer profile and overides what is set within the printer driver.

I take it that you design in Corel and then export as a jpeg and import this into FA.

Do you design in RGB or CMYK ?

Presuming that you work in RGB, What you see on screen is based on Corels Color managment (CMS) which is setup for generic color printing, when you bring this image into FA it will then display as it will print using the TJet profiles. This can be why color do not look the same as in Corel.
To sync the two, you would need to change Corel so that it used the Fast TJet ICC profile for proofing the colors on screen.

Does it print as it looks in FA or in COrel ?

What do you want to see in FA and Corel in terms of color, as it will print or the best colors the screen can display ?

Best regards

-David
