I have recently purchased a T JET 2, I have not been able to get it to work properly. The machine now only seems to want to print in blue. when it prints it does not print the full image, it bleeds as it prints, the bleeds seem to happen when there is a color shift, i have attached a picture. It may be that the machine is simply in need of cleaning but i do not want to open this machine since it seems to be different then most Tjets the white printing attachment has been oddly placed on the machine, and its hard to follow the instruction on the dvd since this machine is somewhat different i think this particular unit was an upgraded one. What it comes down to is that i just want this machine working like it should so i can have a clean slate and get started. Since i just recently purchased it and have not had any luck getting it to work properly. If you could give me some information regarding where i can get it serviced or working properly, i've emailed places and i get useful information back but no one seems to give me an answer about servicing the machine i would love to try and fix it myself but this machine is somewhat of a little frankenstein. I emailed International Machine Group, new and used commercial embroidery equipment, t-jet, direct to garment printers and was told this :
"It seems to me that your machine is working, because it is printing ,but its over feeding you might want to check the hight on the ink tray I believe you have it up to high. Try lowering it to about the middle. And clean the capping station and the squeegee. Check out our website there is good trouble shooting information their to help you better understand your machine. "
I'm located in Venice, California if anyone knows anyone that is around the area or at least in southern california i would greatly appreciate it, thank you.
I have seen a TJet owner on the Veince walk shops. He is normally pretty active on the TJet forums. I think his name is Pinkfeud. I would also consider calling IMG and taking the machine to them as they have a very good tech in house.
Here are a couple quick things to check. Have you cleaned the encoder strip yet, if not I would clean it to start off. Have you attempted to print a nozzle check? This is a good way to check to see if your nozzles are clogged & to what degree. I would also make sure that your ink bottle is not too high or overfilled with ink.
Thank you for the information i tried searching for PinkFeud on the boards but no luck, i will try to call IMG since by email they dont seem to answer my servicing questions. If you've seen a post with the Venice Tjet owner if you could forward me the link i would appreciate it thank you for all your help!.
i know the machine has a new encoder strip, and i've done a nozzle check but when i do the machine starts making sounds like its about to break something. The ink levels are at a good height and at a good level, what do you think?

When it is going through the cleaning process is it making a grinding sound? If it is that would be coming from the pump motor & it would need to be replaced. That would explain why your colors are having problems printing.

It sounds like you're having a problem with your capping assembly. It is a wear part so it would not hurt to change it out anyway and it's not expensive. We strongly recommend changing out the entire assembly (capping station, pump, and wipers).
By looking at the photo I would say it has to be the encoder strip. Did you look to see if all the colors puddle up in the capping station when you do a head cleaning?
