Default HELP! i got a used tjet 3. us screens wont help me..

hey guys. i have a 90lb paper weight called a tjet 3 that i purchased used from a guy named john a kennedy from florida. thank god he lives in florida. .. but anyway.. no ink is printing on to the shirt... im a screen printer, but a newbie to dtg printing. can someone please help me understand whats wrong. i just purchased ink & a bulk system from equipment zone those guys were cool

You say no ink is printing on the shirt in this field is really vague. Can you describe the set up process you did before trying to print.

Did you purge the lines, cartridges, and run 2-3 power head cleans beforehand? Did you notice if there is there ink in the capping station?

no I just tried to print, straight from opening the box .. I'm green as hell with tjet

Not to be a jerk, but start reading these forums and watching some of the training videos on YouTube. Also, if all that fails, why not call Equipment Zone back and ask them what it would cost to get your machine going?

A lot of used printers will be on the market soon and I am hoping that the folks who buy these things will educate themselves before their purchase. When you look at a machine, don't just look at the price. Look at what will come with that price. In our case, when we sold our Flexi-Jet printer, I spent an entire day training the guy who bought it. I even followed-up with some emails and phone calls. Buying the cheapest printer you can find doesn't always add up to the best deal. Paying more to include some training or tech support may be the best way to go.

btw, a veiled threat towards the guy who sold you the printer, after admitting you don't know how to set it up, is uncalled for.

JPD said it best. Don't trash the machine and the seller without knowledge of how to use it. We are all here to help those who help themselves. These machines are not toasters, they need knowledge and understanding before use. Being a screen printer is completely irrelevant to the nature of the DTG machines.

We do not want to seem harsh but read, learn, and research before using the T3. If one of us can't help you, than definately contact EquipmentZone in New Jersey for some help.

the seller said the machine is working nothing needed but ink. I would have rather purchased a working machine -vs- a non working machine.

I'm asking for troubleshooting advice not slick *** remarks. that's what I thought forum was for.

From an earlier post you still have not let us know if you purged the lines and cartridges and cycled 2 head cleans with a nozzle check. We are not here to tee off on you here, just need to know whats been done so far besides just filling with ink and trying to print.

Each printer can operate uniquely. Are you sure that the printer you really have is a T-Jet 3. I have dealt with the guy you purchased it from (he also goes by the name Austin and is located in the middle of the east coast of Florida, correct?). As far as I know, he is not an authorized T-Jet distributor and has tried to create his own printer in the past. I can't stress enough how important distributor support is. Not sure what this guy did to the printer, so it could be hard for someone knowing the T-Jet 3 printer to even help you if he changed the board or other items. I would try to find a T-Jet authorized service center and get them to check it out in person. If that is not possible, then try Equipment Zone's team... but please be patient and thoroughly explain what the printer is doing and what it is not doing. Based on the information you provided, there is not much anyone can do to help you. You should also consider attending an in-person training on the t-jet. Using any dtg printer is not something that will just come to you without many days of fustration, a case or more of wasted shirts and replacing expensive parts.

Just call equipment zone and get them to walk you through everything. Once it is printing shirts, sell it.

Why wont they help you I just bought a t-jet-2 used and that is way older then a t-jet 3. They always help me

us screen finally helped a little, basically the guy I got it from told me he got 10 from a repo auction but they work fine just need ink. so I gave them his name, turns out he was the owner. but he modified the board. iwish there was a repair center in geogia, so i'm looking to ship the unit to equipment zone

I apologize for the troubles that you are having with the T Jet 3 printer that you purchased but any warranty would be from Mr. Kennedy, not U.S. Screen as they are modified machines & I don't believe even come with the FastArtist/FastRIP software.
