Question Making That Step

Why am I SO Afraid to start up my Tjet2?!
I have soley set up this machine and read the manuals. I have gotten to the point of filling the bulk ink bottles but now I need to Prime the cartridges. I have no jobs waiting to print and I have read and heard stories about the Tjet sitting unused, capping station and print head problems. I am reluctant to take the final step and crank up this oversized inkjet printer. In other words, I AM SCEEERED to face what's ahead.
ANY Words of Encouragement?

2aTee,

The best advice I can give you is only keep the inks in the head when its being used. Do not let them sit in there even for just overnight. I wouldn't wait till orders roll in but rather spend a day printing small graphics and using this "free" time to hone your printing skills.

After every print day I cap off the ends of the print lines, run 3 cycles of cleaning solution through the head and in the capping station, and stick my bulk ink cartridges in a plastic baggy with no air so they can't dry out.

At the start of each print day I shake my bottles well and than let sit for a half hour, reprime the cartridges, do two head cleanings, and Im off printing great designs.

I think the biggest problem is letting the inks sit in the head for hours or even days with no use - not good.

If you need ANY help we are all in the same boat and are here for support and help.

-Mike
