Hello to all,
After a unsuccessful 7 months with our tjet 3 and several broken promises by, president and owner Scott Fresner of us screen, I am trying to give him one last chance to honor an agreement that he had made to replace a defective machine (a third one at that). Since day 1 we have not be able to produce 1 successful or consistant job. From misprints to errors, to frozen machines, its been 1 nightmare after another. I have been told that the tjet 3 has had some design flaws because it was not manufactured inhouse by us screen.

Reason: removed solicitation for emails - these are help forums to resolve issues, not a place to threaten legal action
I maybe wrong, but I thought I read on screen printers.net about a class action law suit against them... they may have deleted the post. But look around, i've seen more than one post like yours with the same problems.
I had spoken to an attorney that is working with a few others who are unsucessful in getting the refund. But that was about 3-4 months ago.
I dont have his number, but I am in the processs of trying to get it.
To the 3 or 4 that have sent me emails. Thank You.
Your services might come in handy if Scott Fresner from US Screen doesnt honor his committments and keep his word.

First a question ...... exactly what kind of problems were you having with your T-jet[s] and what did US Screen do to rectify those problems ?
Then a comment ...... I know there was a mention of a lawsuit against US Screen on some other site [maybe it was the "t-jet sucks" site, not sure]. Perhaps if you do a search, you can find others similarily frustrated.
The problems are numerous. Couldnt print "runs" ( 3, 5, 20) pieces in a row without getting error lights and freezing the machine. Not to mention the shirt on the board at the time of the error. so if you werent doing 1 shirt with 1 pass, it was a crap shoot whether the shirt would print right.
Also misregistration. tried the adjustment program, new boards, different designs, nothing worked.
I did call support well over 150 documented times ( per phone records). They tried everything and nothing worked. Shutting the bed sensors off, adjustment program, their artwork, new bulk system, new printheads, to completely new machines which they swapped several times.
If i was an optimist, i would say that i just have had bad luck with some bum machines. who knows.
But there was a final deal that was made to exchange it with a different machine back in October. Its now january and due to production problems, Im still waiting.
He has contacted me, and maybe this time it will work out. I think they have realized some issues with the 3 and thats what created the blazer. I hope this machine is better. If i do get one I will let people know if it works good.
If anyone already has one, as I was told that 30 have shipped, please let us know.
Like I had mentioned, legal recourse will be our last resort. I worked in the criminal justice system for 9 years and am happy to be out. Thats not a route I want to take.
I believeTsw2005 is that guy that was given 3 replacement machines?
...I think that US Screen is obligated to get you a working machine....There are always 2 sides of the story and we have only heard one side....tsw2005 is free to come on these forums and say what he wants to get his cash...I have a business and I know there are certain customers who can never be pleased....US Screen should get him a working machine...that was the deal

Thanks for the info. I do not have a DTG printer but follow these kind of threads closely because I would like to get one and have a lot of interest in the problems that owners are facing [which seem to be many].
I am still waiting for someone to produce a printer that is cost effective and as close to trouble free as possible. Personally I don't think any DTG printers now available - except the Brother and perhaps the Kornit [which I can't afford] - would fall into that category. Of course the Brother will not print on darks, so that is it's downfall. Guess I will just keep waiting.
As someone looking to buy a DTG printer, the T-jet3 is downright scary .... simply not worth considering [in my opinion].
You need a working printer and US Screen needs to rebuild it's reputation .... hopefully that will mean a new printer on your door step very soon.
From what I have been told from the owner, the Blazer express is the "answer" to all the tjet 3 problems. As I have been paying on a loan for 7 months with no profit coming in, Im willing to try the new machine if he ships it. At this point (after losing alot in stock, time, and interest) I have nothing more to lose.
If it does work as good as he says, it might be the answer to tjets problems. If not, well who knows, maybe he has enough happy customers to make him a living.
On a side note, I am fully aware that these machines have a learning curve, and require ALOT of PM maintenance. That IM willing to deal with and accept. But I also think for the money they should be functioning, realiable, and consistant.
In my personal experiences the tjet 3 has not been that machine (at least for us).
Maybe the blazer express will be. We'll see if I get to find out.

Come on pink. I know you are a US Screen fan but two sides to every story?? With all the information given on this board and so many others of complaints of the Tjet3, not the 2 or the 1, but the 3, there is validity to this, no matter what the other side of the story is. As a matter of fact, the other side of the story was already given in the words of the owner of US Screen admitting design flaws in the TJet3.
I am not in any way trying to rail on Scott, he simply had his hands full with the TJet 3 issues, period. That's why I am glad the Blazer should help them out with a bad situation. Complaint after complaint after complaint from countless people regarding the TJet3 is not something to overlook. And to brush it off as not knowing the other side of the story is just being a loyalist to the extreme.
It's okay to admit there are issues with the TJet3. After all, that's what these boards are supposed to be doing, giving the information needed to make an informed decision. As far as I've read into this, in no way was he bashing US Screen but was venting frustrations in hopes of US Screen doing the right thing.

I wish you luck in getting this all figured out. I have the TJet 2, I had it several months, making the monthly payment, before I was able to get the help I needed to get it to print correctly. I was lucky to have a "teacher" come to my shop and assist me, but then I had to have a new bulk system - found out the one they sent with the machine was a "poor" design and only went to a few purchasers. It is frustrating having to keep up the payments and not having any profit coming in.
Hey Pink,
your quote exact. "US Screen should get him a working machine...that was the deal"
As of now, seven months later, I still dont have a working printer. Never had one.
And they can testify to that. Trust me, tech support does not want to even talk to me, I called so much. And I will give them credit, they tried EVERYTHING.
If I wanted to bash US screen, i could. But like the others said, Im not.
Just trying to get a working printer, and the tjet3 just wasnt it. The one sitting in my shop has not been turned on since October. Its collecting dust and not worth wasting electricity. As a matter of fact, there was never even white in put in the machine. That was a whole different ballgame that was on hold until I got it working on lights first. It never happened. And all the white ink I have is the old stuff that separates in the lines after about 8 hours. Basically junk. Or better yet $299 junk.
An agreement was made to swap it for a new working printer. Im still waiting.
So I dont think its fair to say I havent tried, or Im not being reasonable.
Complaint after complaint after complaint from countless people regarding the TJet3 is not something to overlook.
I totally agree with you Jerid.
As someone who has not yet bought a DTG printer and pays close attention to what is posted on this and other forums regarding problems with various printers ... to say that the T-jet3's reputation is poor would be a vast understatement.
At this moment [and probably for a very long time] I personally would not consider purchasing any T-jet. I say this not to slam the T-jets or US Screen or any one else who may sell them .... instead to reflect the fact that I have absolutely no confidence in the T-jet.
I understand that Pink uses the T-jet printer but just out of curiousity is it a T-jet3 ??? I asked before but never did get an answer.
I must admit that I have never used a T-Jet3....I use several of the older machines which have performed like workhorses for 2 years....it is possible that the TJet3 may have a machine flaw but I will swear by the tjet1 & 2.....(I got my eye on the Blazer)....Most problems with the original machines were ink and pretreatment related and not machine related...I guess I am extremely loyal to US Screen..maybe it is because they saved my life....I was facing bankrupcy selling music CDs...the CD was rapidly declining in sales....when I couldnt sell my stores and was about to shut them down I stumbled upon US Screens website....I bought a machine and before too long I was selling more T-Shirts then CDs...I owe my success to US Screen and if I can do it anyone can...forgive me for getting defensive when people complain about the T-Jets...I hope you get your problems worked out...all I know is I communicate every day with happy T-Jet users..which are the vast majority of customers....Now as long as you can't download an actual T-Shirt from your computer like you can download music CDs....everything will be fine!

Most problems with the original machines were ink and pretreatment related and not machine related
Definitely the case... The original Tjet was great without the white ink. Add white ink and you might as well forget about it. It was the beginning of white ink in the market and there were a ton of problems associated with it. No one knew anything about the white ink and no one knew of the many many problems to follow. Let's just say, something everyone knew was the white ink was no where near ready for prime time.
Now the TJet 2 had more issues with the ink system than the TJet 1. So until they got those issues worked out, it was mechanical in one sense. The TJet 2 finally became a solid machine. Now whenever they are refurbished and offered for sale, they sell out immediately.
Quote:
I owe my success to US Screen and if I can do it anyone can...forgive me for getting defensive when people complain about the T-Jets...
I'm glad the TJet assisted in turning your life around financially. That's truly a great story and for as long as I've read your posts, I never knew that about you. So I can understand the loyalty. As for the defensiveness, my comments were simply to give a third party response since I was not directly involved with the TJet and have no biases.
I liked the Tjet series until they introduced white ink. Now with most of the major issues resolved, I was happy to see them advancing. Then the TJet 3 came out and it was probably more than they bargained for and probably hurt them more than anyone knows. That's why I am glad they seem to have a solid machine in the Blazer. Even though I used to sell a competitive machine, I've always tried to keep an open mind and do what's right for the end user. That's why I think we simply need to call something what it is, regardless of the past history.

I own a TJet 3 and I had a lot of problems as well. All of them were fixed though. I can definitely understand the frustration with a non-working machine. And the error lights. Thankfully the bed sensor being disabled fixed almost all of my problems.
Honestly, I still find it hard to beleive that none of them [your replacements] worked at all. Obviously, they didn't, but it just seems like I've read/spoke to so many people who love their TJ3 and have had no issues, and then there are people who have just had terrible luck.
I hope that you eventually (sooner rather than later) get a working machine and can turn a profit. I love my TJ3, but I would get a Blazer if I were to get another, because the speed just isn't there with the TJ3.
Good luck to you in your pursuit, and hopefully soon you'll be on here telling us how much money your making printing shirts for people.
